My girl is growing up so fast! And with that, so are her tastes and style sense. When she turned 13 she started planning for new “teen” room. A couple years ago, I featured her tween room where we used FrogTape® brand painter’s tape to create a cool modern art statement wall.
We are in the middle of updating her room to her teen status. First step—we had to repaint the walls. My girl still isn’t afraid of color, and after many color tests, she picked a gorgeous teal. The most important part was making sure we still kept the crisp line of color next to the white bead board and molding at the top of her wall. Solution? FrogTape® for sure!
FrogTape® has the only tapes on the market treated with PaintBlock®. I recently received a package with FrogTape® Multi-Surface and FrogTape® Delicate Surface painter’s tape, and knew they would be perfect to help me update my daughter’s room.
These tapes are great for painting walls in your home, especially transition walls. They are also great for baseboards and trims.
What is PaintBlock®? Its the special ingredient in the tape that reacts with the water in paint and instantly gels to form a barrier against paint bleed giving you the sharpest paint lines possible.
I used the classic green multi-surface FrogTape® to get a clean color line next to the white molding.
Lovely! Check out that cool color!
We also wanted to create a new large wall piece for one of her walls. I had an old canvas art piece that honestly I was debating whether to get rid of. It was a pretty piece of art, but not exactly my daughter’s style. Instead, I knew I could create a cool wall decor piece for her wall with just a little creativity and color, and a little FrogTape®.
Check out the before and after:
To create this cool, teen approved, wall art, this time I used the yellow delicate surface FrogTape®. I wanted to make sure not to ruin the front of the printed canvas surface.
I went for a geometric pattern to update and brighten the classic canvas art.
Then I just kept adding more and more stripes of FrogTape®.
I just kept taping until I was satisfied with design. I even taped the outer edges so that the paint wouldn’t bleed along the sides.
And then the magic happened!
I taped, and then i painted over the whole canvas with a pretty light teal paint. We used one of the test colors when we were picking out her wall color. This one was just a little lighter than the one she ultimately picked for her walls.
The new wall art and the cool wall color truly make a statement.
Love it!
