How Netflix and Mater Save the Day (Every Day)

I am so thrilled to have this opportunity to share my experience as part of this sponsored campaign from Netflix. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Netflix

Getting our entire family out the door on time every morning is a challenge (understatement), but Netflix and Mater save the day (seriously).  The morning starts with the usual activities of getting dressed and eating breakfast but is magnified with conflict and energy as our 3-year old twins get revved up for the day and as we keep our tween daughter in motion. Once breakfast is done – the cheers erupt as our boys ‘get a show’ and pick something from the dedicated kids category on Netflix. We still have a battle as to whose turn it is to pick a show – usually “Car Toons: Mater’s Tall Tales” but sometimes “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse”, “Thomas and Friends” or “Curious George”. On the rare occasion that our 10-year old daughter is ready for school early, we choose “Pingu”. Once the show starts, peace begins and it becomes my turn to get everything else ready before we dash out the door.

How does Netflix save the day?

  • Netflix has a dedicated kids section filled with hundreds of the kids’ favorite characters – making the decision easier for all
  • Our family’s source of truth for media age-appropriateness, Common Sense Media, offers age ratings and content descriptions for smarter choices
  • We can keep up the morning routine whether streaming from our TV, computer or iPad (or even iPhone) -downloading the app on our devices and logging in was easy. Even on our computer, we can stream via Netflix.com
  • Content is commercial-free (HUGE bonus)

Netflix: Mater's Tall Tales

How does Mater save the day?

While Mater becomes ‘Rescue Squad Mater’ and rescues Lightning McQueen from a burning building, the boys find a few minutes of calm.

Netflix Twins

While ‘El Materdor’ fights a herd of bulldozers in Spain, I can pack the lunch bags.

Mater: Lunches Packed

And, while ‘Monster Truck Mater’ becomes a professional monster truck wrestler, I can finally get dressed for work.

Mater: Dressed for Work

Everyone is dressed, has eaten, applied sunscreen and is prepared with a lunch – Success!  Thank you Netflix and Mater!

What are you watching on TV with your family? Netflix has family favorites from Disney, Disney Jr., Hasbro, Cartoon Network and Dreamworks that are available to stream anytime, anywhere.

And streaming is easier than you think! Download the free app on your iPad, click on the Netflix app on any gaming device, go to the website on your computer – and you’re in business. Check it out here!

YES! I couldn’t agree more. We rely on Netflix too. At our house Diego is King and Strawberry Shortcake is a close second, but I know Mater will step up to higher ranking as soon as my 2 year old learns how accessible he is (and he learns to fight back against his push big sis.) 🙂

Hi Anna! I remember Diego and Strawberry Shortcake being my daughter’s favorites when she was younger. Good luck keeping the peace! Lynnee
