Best Mom Cupcakes with Coffee Filter hand dyed flowers #givebakery

Mother’s Day is coming up, and we are showcasing gift ideas inspired by treats that you can get in your local grocer’s bakery. Last year it was a success, and we were so touched by all of the responses we got from the Mother’s Day giveaway last year, that we are hosting another one this year.

It truly is so easy to find yummy treats in your grocer’s bakery, and dress them up to make a lovely gift idea.

We did it for Valentine’s Day with these fun free printables found here.

Hugs and Kisses Pink Frosted Cookies Classroom Treat

We did it for the holidays with pretty gift basket ideas and cookie mason jars here.

And we made fun party treat cups with mini brownies here.

But right now, it’s all about MOM and how to make her feel special.

You can dip coffee filters into water tinted with food coloring, and put them together in cupcake bouquet flower for a really pretty and crafty way to present a tasty treat to MOM.

How to Dip Dye Coffee Filters for Crafting

I did a clump of about 6 coffee filters at a time in different colors, and let them dry. I even double dipped some to get really pretty color mixing effects.

Then when they were dry, I fluffed them and arranged them into pretty flower shapes, perfect to nest a yummy cupcake or muffin treat.

I am hoping to spend some time with my daughter, granddaughter, and grandson, since they are the only ones who live closest to me. My granddaughter is a joy and my grandson lives with me and is the only company I generally get.

I wish I could spend it with my mom…. My mom has been deseaced since I was 18 yrs old… I have two boys now one 2 and the other 5 and would have loved for her to have met them. And them to experience what having a grandma or grandpa is about. My mom was my best friend who I could confide in. Who gave me great advice.

I have been so blessed and having such a wonderful childhood makes it more difficult in many ways. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss my loving Mommy. She passed very young and she did so much in her years as a Mother that these memories can never be extinguished. She never got to see any of her grandchildren, and yet they all carry on many of her traditions that have been passed down. This year I lose my younger sister and my heart is empty without her, but I know she and ourMom are spending the day hugging each other and watching over the family.

  27. April 22, 2015 at 8:52 am

Since this is a day set aside to honor all mother’s, I would love to have this time to celebrate and honor my Mother, Grandmothers, and my Daughter. I am sure this would be a very interesting time for all of us.

My mother is the kindest heart warming lady that is my best friend. We do not see one another enough , she is a caring woman and is always helping others . That is my mom . Now I am a grandma and I use my mothers wisdom with my Grandaughter , and when I see my mom I thank my mom when we do see one another.

My Mom has since passed but growing up in a large family and traveling with the military presented not challenges for mom but opportunities for us. She was very crafty and keeping us too very busy. From a puppet theater to amazing things to do with kitchen items. It was so amazing to live in the family like this. We did in fact make paper flowers. because mom had the old fashion percolator coffee either electric or stove top we didn’t have that convenance. Happy Mothers Day Ladies every day.
