Have your kids started making their Christmas wish list yet? I know my tween has, and it’s getting long! The Graphic Skinz Design Studio was actually on it, so when we were asked to try out this new, cool creative toy, we were thrilled!
The Graphic Skinz Design Studio master set comes with a cool motorized vacuum chamber, a variety of white plastic pieces (that assemble into different objects like a jewelry box, butterfly, and seahorse) and a slew of decorative patterned papers to customize your objects with. There is another master set, geared more for boys, that comes with monster truck, spider, and shark to customize.
Really, it’s pretty ingenious how it works. After assembling our vacuum chamber, my girl planned out her designs to put on each plastic piece. She cut the papers to size and wrapped them around each piece. Then with a bowl of water, she got the sponge that’s included in the kit wet and wrapped it around a plastic piece wrapped in the decorative paper.
Then into the vacuum chamber it went! She pressed the button while all of the air was sucked out and all of the excess water was squeezed out from the sponge to flow into the water chamber. She removed the plastic piece, and peeled back the top white layer of the paper to reveal the design. The final touch was to smooth the edges while it was still wet with the small sponge brush included in the kit.
After all of the pieces were completely dry, she could put her new custom masterpiece together. This is definitely a one-of-a-kind jewelry box!
You can buy different design packs to keep the fun going. There are guitars, fashion glasses, dinosaurs, cars, jewelry sets—just to name a few.
Really, this fun crafty machine kept her entertained for hours!
