Earth – An Original Poem by a Superstar Tween

My daughter just finished 4th grade and returned with a collection of her projects from the year. I was touched by one of her poems and wanted to share. It amazes me more and more every day, how thoughtful and creative my tween is growing up to be. I hope you find this as inspiring as I did. In my eyes, she will always be a superstar.

Enjoy = )

Earth

The leaves dance in the cool summer breeze as they fall from the trees

The sea tells me stories as I listen to it’s waves crash on the shore

The rocks listen as we play every day

The moon guides me with its light as the night grows dark

The trees are so patient as they watch us go by

Are you looking for more poetic inspiration?  My daughter and I both recommend reading “Pizza, Pigs and Poetry: How to Write a Poem”.

By night, I dream of learning how to best use gloss, glitter & my daughter's glue gun. I really want to create memories with my daughter to last a lifetime.
