Have your kids gone back to school yet? My tween still has two more weeks of summer, but let me tell you – we are ready! She’s packed her new backpack with all of her school supplies for the first day. She’s picked out her outfit, and of course she has been making locker decoration crafts which I will share soon. = )

Today I have a quick and fun craft idea and great giveaway to close out the summer. Does your child like to bring a little something special to his/her new teacher to kick off the school year? Here’s a fun twist on a classic teacher gift and icon – a nice juicy red apple. But what if this red apple was really chocolate candies in a soda bottle?

Have you seen these ball-shaped soda bottles? I’ve seen them in the soda aisle at my local grocery store packaged for kids, and I know during the holidays, Coca-Cola® usually always comes out with them.

I emptied one out, cleaned it out, and made sure it was dry before filling with fun red chocolate candies that I found at my local party store.

Then I painted the lid with Americana Multi-surface satin paint in apple green and let dry.

I cut out a quick leaf shape from green colored cardstock paper and tied it on the top with a pretty green ribbon.

That’s it. The cutest, yummiest, chocolate candy apple ever! Perfect idea for a teacher gift on the first day of school.
