Rustic Wood Holiday Chalkboard Trivet DIY

Let’s Celebrate!

Rustic Wood Holiday Celebrate Chalkboard Trivet

You know me and nature craft ideas— I love them!

I recently made this gorgeous and festive trivet from a large rustic wood slice. You can find these at your local craft store, like Michaels, or I found mine online at SavOnCrafts.

I used Americana Lipstick Red Multi-Surface Satin paint and Americana Clear Chalkboard coating to make this fabulous chalkboard surface.

You can chalk in your menu, a saying, or just a beautiful sentiment for your occasion. I’m over at the DecoArt blog with the full tutorial.

And, as a bonus, here is a quick tutorial showing your the easiest way to transfer a pre-printed message on any chalkboard surface.

I know, I for one, my handwriting isn’t always pretty. The computer is my friend in this case. I designed a “Celebrate” decorative first on the computer, printed it out and then used it as a template for my chalkboard surface.

How to transfer chalk design on chalkboard DIY @clubchicacircle

It’s a simple 3-step process to transfer onto your surface.

  1. On your printed design, chalk in the back of your paper first.
  2. Then place your design where you want it, and tape down. Using a pencil, draw over your design. This will transfer the chalk from the back of the paper onto your chalkboard surface, but only where you pencil it in.
  3. Touch up any spots that need more chalk.

That’s it!

You can grab the Celebrate Decorative chalkboard sign free printable here if you want to use for yourself.

Enjoy! Hop on over to the DecoArt blog for the rustic wood trivet DIY.

Now go be with your families and Celebrate!

Happy Holidays and Happy Crafting!
